Reading Challenge: What is Your Goal for 2022?

Updated: Dec 28, 2021

I have kept a list of everything I have read for the past 10 plus years. I decided to do this for a couple of reasons:

1) I like lists

2) I didn’t want to keep reading the same books when there is so much to read, and so little time to read it

3) I like book challenges

The most books I’ve read in a year (since keeping track) was 42, and the least was a pitiful one book, though I started but didn’t finish a lot of books that year.

So I am publicly making known my goal this year. I will be reading at least 12 books in 2022. It’s a modest number, but one I think I can manage.

I think it’s important for making a reading goal that you are realistic with how much time you have to read in a year. Also think about the length of books you want to read. The year I read War and Peace, I, understandably, read fewer books than the year before. You don’t want to set a lofty goal, only to feel bad about not keeping on track with your reading pace.

My reading goal is 12. What is yours?
